When you make changes to your bathroom, there are options that you have available for the level of remodel that you would like to accomplish. The level of bathroom remodeling could be chosen due to personal preferences, budgetary constraints, available materials, and time frame available. In this post, we will look at different levels of bathroom remodeling and what each level comprises of.

Simple Update of Fixtures

One of the options that you have for a remodel is to simply update the current fixtures that you have. One way to do this would be to change out the hardware, or you could refresh the paint on the walls. There wouldn’t be major changes to the room. It would be more of a refresh for the current look. You could change colors, but the general layout of the room would remain the same.

Replace Fixtures

Another option for a remodel would be to replace the fixtures in the room. In this example, you could include replacing the tub, putting in a new sink, or changing out the shower area. The room would have the same layout, but the fixtures themselves would be new. You could change the coloring, give the room a more modern look, or choose to go back in time and make it retro.

Rearrange Room Layout

When you are thinking about making changes to your room, you could also do a major remodel and change the layout of the room. In this case, it could be mean re-routing the plumbing to where the new fixtures will be. It could also mean changing the structures of the walls to accommodate the changes that you are making to the room. This could mean adding a wall or taking a wall out to make room for the moved fixtures, such as moving a bathtub from one side of the room to the other. The plumbing would need to be re-routed to the other wall if there is no current plumbing access.

Rearrange Rooms

One other option for a remodel is to move the location of the rooms in your house. This means that you could move the bathroom to where the bedroom is, or you could even add another bathroom to the house that wasn’t previously there. These changes could require re-wiring or re-plumbing the house. This option would also require analyzing the current structure and layout to determine if the changes could be made while leaving the house structurally sound.
